Better (October 09-February 10)

The book of Hebrews is a letter written to Jewish believers who were being pressured to forsake their Christian confession.  The letter is one that reminds us that life in Christ is better than any other option.  Hence, we have titled our study of the book of Hebrews “Better.”

January 10 – A Better Priesthood (Hebrews 7:1-28)

Key Verses: “So Jesus has also become the guarantee of a better covenant. Now many have become ⌊Levitical⌋ priests, since they are prevented by death from remaining in office. But because He remains forever, He holds His priesthood permanently. Therefore, He is always able to save those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them” (Hebrews 7:22-25, HCSB)

Theme – Jesus, like Melchizidek, is a more capable priest and engages in a better priesthood on behalf of the believer.
