Who We Are
College Heights is a family of believers located in Elyria. We come from all walks of life. We live in various communities around Northern Ohio. What we have in common is a love for the Lord and a love for each other. We have been touched by God’s love. He has saved us and redeemed us. That’s our common bond.
What We Believe
We believe that God is the creator and sustainer of all that is. He is holy and perfect. We, on the other hand, are corrupted in our sin. Thus, we are separated from Him. – Genesis 1:1, Isaiah 6:3, Romans 3:23
We believe that God loves us more than anything else. He loves us so much that He sent Jesus to die in our place so He could have a relationship with us. More than anything else, God wants to be part of our lives, and He wants us to be part of His. – John 3:16, 1 John 4:10, 1 Peter 3:18, 2 Corinthians 5:21
We believe that God has revealed to us who He is and how He works. All of the natural universe points to Him. Furthermore, He has revealed Himself through the Bible. The Bible is the divinely inspired, inerrant Word of God. It is the authoritative guideline for our life and practice. – Romans 1:20, 2 Timothy 3:16
We believe that God redeems us by His grace through faith. We cannot earn our way to Him. We cannot be good enough. To come to God is to turn from our own path (in other words, to repent), and surrender to His. It is to trust that Jesus is who He said He was, and did what He said He did. It is to completely give our lives to God. – Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:21-26, Romans 10:9-10
Why We Are Here
We gather together to worship and serve the God who created and redeemed us. Our desire is simple. We want to reach people with the love of God. We want them to grow closer to Him and to each other. We want to use our gifts in serving God, His people, and the world around us.
