What We Believe

We believe that God is one God in three persons.  He is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2

We believe that God is the creator and sustainer of all that is.  He is holy and perfect.  We, on the other hand, are corrupted in our sin.  Thus, we are separated from Him. – Genesis 1:1, 3:1-24; Isaiah 6:3, Romans 3:23

We believe that God is not only holy, but loving.  As a matter of fact, He is love.  His holiness, however, demands that payment be made for sin.  In His great love and mercy, God sent His son Jesus to die in our place so we could have a relationship with Him.   – John 3:16, 1 John 4:10, 16

We believe that Jesus is God and willingly stepped out of Heaven to become man.  He lived a perfect life completely free of sin.  He died willingly in our place on the cross and rose triumphantly from the grave.  John 1:1, 14; 10:10; Romans 4:25; Philippians 2:5-10; 1 Peter 3:18, 2 Corinthians 5:21

We believe that Jesus will return to claim those that are His.  He will raise the dead and gather the living.  He will judge all and reign triumphantly over a New Heaven and a New Earth at the culmination of God’s plan for the ages.  John 14:1-4; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 19:1-22:5

We believe that God has revealed to us who He is and how He works.  All of the natural universe points to Him.  Furthermore, He has revealed Himself through the Bible.  The Bible is the divinely inspired, inerrant Word of God.  It is the authoritative guideline for our life and practice. – Romans 1:20, 2 Timothy 3:16

We believe that God saves us by His grace through faith.  We cannot earn our way to Him.  We cannot be good enough or religious enough.  Rather, we must trust Him and His provision for us in Christ.  To come to God is to turn from our own path (in other words, to repent), and to surrender our lives to Him in saving faith.  It is to trust that Jesus is who He said He was, and did what He said He did and to completely yield our lives to Him.  Salvation is found in Jesus and Him alone. – John 14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:21-26, Romans 10:9-10
